The Last Time

Live every day He gives you
As if it is your last
Show compassion, love
And most of all, just laugh

Appreciate each moment
As if this is the day
When at the end, instead of sleep
He's taking you away

Pretend it is the last time
You'll see a darling face
The last time you could give a kiss
Or share one last embrace

Would you do things differently
If you knew this would be
The last day you would spend on Earth
The last time you would see

The sunrise in the morning
The stars come out at night
Your family and your loved ones
The last time that you might

Tell them that you love them
And give them that big hug
Go and do it right now
Don't turn the page and shrug...

'Cause what if it's the last time
You'll ever see their face
What if it's the last time
You'll feel that warm embrace

Life is too short for holding back
Too short for making do
And if this were my last day
I'd want it spent with you
